Release notes

Version 1.10.0

  • Improved reliability of recovery after a dropped connection.
  • Fixed several cases where connecting could get stuck.
  • Fixed more cases of "Connection service is currently down".
  • Fixed a crash that could happen when connecting.

Version 1.9.1

  • Fixed misrouted diagnostic information: Some app diagnostics were being written to the wrong place. They now go to the right place.

Version 1.9.0

  • Fixed app hang at startup: Resolved an issue where the app could hang on startup on certain Windows network configurations.
  • More reliable connection startup: Fixed additional cases where "Connection service is currently down" could appear after sign-in.
  • Fixed stuck connection after closing the app: Resolved a case where closing and reopening the app could leave the connection in a stuck state until reboot.
  • More reliable connections overall: Improved how the app handles connection attempts across protocols and servers, reducing failure rates.

Version 1.8.0

  • New Reconnecting state: The app now shows a dedicated Reconnecting state while restoring a dropped connection.
  • More complete diagnostic information: Fixed several cases where diagnostics were missing from the diagnostic bundle attached to support requests, helping the support team resolve issues faster.

Version 1.7.0

  • More resilient connection handling: The app now automatically falls back to the next server or protocol if a connection attempt fails. This covers cases where ports are blocked or specific servers don't respond.
  • More reliable location switching: Fixed cases where switching between locations could fail or get stuck.
  • Accurate connection state: Resolved an issue where the app could briefly appear connected even though the underlying tunnel had failed.
  • Reliable disconnects: Fixed cases where disconnecting from a server could hang.

Version 1.6.0

  • Improved connection service startup reliability: We fixed additional cases where the connection service could fail to start, helping ensure the app connects more consistently.

Version 1.5.0

  • Enhanced diagnostics: We improved internal diagnostics to better detect and understand issues when they occur, helping us improve stability over time.

  • More reliable connections: Improved how the app connects to locations by better handling server selection and ensuring locations remain available even when latency checks fail.

Version 1.4.1

  • Improved connection service reliability: Fixed additional cases where “Connection service is down” errors could appear.
  • More reliable login state: Resolved issues that could occasionally cause users to become logged out unexpectedly.

Version 1.4.0

  • More stable connection service handling: Resolved cases where “Connection service is down” errors could appear.
  • Improved reconnection reliability: We improved how the app reconnects to WireGuard after a long period of inactivity, helping prevent unexpected disconnects and ensuring smoother reconnections over time.

Version 1.3.0

  • Improved reliability and stability: We made several under-the-hood improvements to make the app more reliable. These changes reduce unexpected failures, prevent silent crashes, and help keep connections working smoothly.
  • Enhanced diagnostics: We improved internal diagnostics to better detect and understand issues when they occur, helping us improve stability over time.

Version 1.2.0

  • More reliable server connections: We fixed issues where connecting to a server could fail immediately and cases where the connection service could crash and prevent connections. If latency (ping) results aren’t available, the app now automatically selects a random server, and the fastest location updates correctly after connecting.
  • Clearer connection status: Connection and disconnection states are now more responsive and accurate, including properly showing the Disconnecting state and surfacing connection service issues sooner.
  • Improved stability: The app now handles corrupted settings more gracefully and includes additional safeguards to prevent rare issues that could disrupt connectivity.
  • Stronger diagnostics: We enhanced internal diagnostics and monitoring to better detect and understand connection issues, helping us improve reliability over time.

Version 1.1.0

  • Smarter server selection (latency-first, with optional A–Z): We simplified the server picker and now sort servers by latency by default, so the fastest options show up first. If you prefer sorting by name, A–Z is still available anytime.
  • Simplified server selection: We streamlined the server picker to make it cleaner and easier to find the server you want.
  • Updated country flags: We refreshed country flags across the app for a more accurate, consistent look.

Version 1.0.1

  • Redesigned signed-out screen: We refreshed the experience for users who aren’t signed in, making it clearer, cleaner, and easier to get started.
  • Improved settings reliability: Fixed an issue that could prevent certain settings from being saved properly. Your preferences should now stick every time.

Version 1.0.0

  • Simple setup process: Download, install, and start browsing privately in just a few minutes. No complicated configuration needed.
  • Fast, reliable protocols: Choose between WireGuard and OpenVPN protocols, or let the app pick the best one automatically for optimal speed and security.
  • 100+ global server locations: Connect to servers across the world. Stream, browse, and access content from anywhere.
